Things to Do in Castelldefels

A coastal town just 20 minutes from Barcelona, combining beach, nature and heritage.

Castelldefels stands out for its balance of sea, mountain and city life. Its long beach, over 5 km of fine sand, is one of its main attractions, but the town has much more to offer visitors staying in the area.

The medieval castle

It crowns the town from above and is Castelldefels' historic landmark. Its origins date back to medieval times, and its surroundings offer some of the best views of the coastline all the way to Barcelona.

The beach and seafront promenade

With over 5 km of fine sand and calm waters, Castelldefels beach is ideal for both swimming and watersports. The seafront promenade running alongside it is lined with beach bars and restaurants with sea-view terraces. We cover it in more detail in our dedicated guide below.

Garraf Natural Park

Right at the edge of town lies Garraf Natural Park, a Mediterranean mountain landscape perfect for hiking and cycling, with sea views from its ridges.

Olympic Canal

Less than 500 metres from our apartments is the Olympic Canal, the rowing venue for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics. Today it's an active leisure area with kayaking, waterskiing, cycling, jogging and a 9-hole (Par 3) golf course.

Port Ginesta

About 5 km away you'll find Port Ginesta, a marina with plenty of restaurants and terraces offering varied cuisine — a great spot for dinner or a relaxed sunset stroll.

Watersports

Very close to the apartments is the Castelldefels Sailing Club, offering sailing courses and watersports activities for all levels. 2 km away is another watersports club (Club Marítimo). More details on our activities page.
